✨ A Mythical Pokémon from the Legendary EX Deoxys Expansion
Released in 2005, EX Deoxys stands among the most celebrated expansions of the Pokémon EX era, introducing collectors to an extraordinary selection of powerful Pokémon, striking artwork, and highly desirable holographic variations.
Among the expansion’s memorable cards is Jirachi, the Wish Pokémon, renowned for its ability to grant wishes and its mysterious association with the Millennium Comet.
Numbered 9/107, this card features a beautifully illustrated Jirachi surrounded by colourful stars and intricate patterns, perfectly reflecting the Pokémon’s mystical nature.
Illustrated by Sumiyoshi Kizuki, the artwork captures Jirachi’s playful personality while creating a striking contrast against the metallic finish of the reverse holographic card.
🌟 The Iconic EX Deoxys Reverse Holo Treatment
What makes this particular example especially appealing is its distinctive EX Deoxys Reverse Holo finish.
Unlike conventional holographic cards, reverse holos from the EX Series feature a reflective treatment across much of the card outside the main illustration window, giving them a unique appearance that sets them apart from both standard non-holographic and traditional holographic examples.
This Jirachi showcases several defining characteristics of the era:
- EX Deoxys Set Stamp: The distinctive expansion logo appears prominently over the lower-right portion of the artwork.
- Metallic Reverse Holographic Finish: A reflective surface enhances the card’s borders and text area.
- Classic EX-Era Design: The original yellow border and distinctive card layout evoke the early Nintendo Pokémon TCG years.
- Beautiful Character Artwork: Sumiyoshi Kizuki’s intricate illustration provides a colourful and instantly recognisable centrepiece.
These features have made stamped EX-era reverse holos particularly appealing to collectors seeking distinctive examples of early Pokémon TCG history.
